A Little About Us

Our National Mission & Vision

Sisters inspired by our values who serve the world while keeping Chi Omega ever at heart.

Chi Omega is an intergenerational women's organization forever committed to our founding purposes:
• Friendship
• Personal integrity
• Service to others
• Academic excellence and intellectual pursuits
• Community and campus involvement
• Personal and career development

Our National History

Founded in 1895 at the University of Arkansas, Chi Omega is the largest women's fraternal organization in the world. Throughout Chi Omega's long and proud history, the Fraternity has brought its members unequaled opportunities for personal growth and development.

Our five founders were a small band of young women who, with the help of local dentist Dr. Charles Richardson, established the secrets, symbolism, and ritual that now bind together over 310,000 women from  174 collegiate chapters and more than 240 alumnae chapters.

Our Chapter Mission

The Austin Chi Omega Alumnae Association enhances the lives of our members through philanthropic efforts in our community, career and personal development opportunities, and social and cultural activities. We seek to further fraternal spirit and cooperation among all members, to aid all active chapters of Chi Omega in their educational pursuits, and uphold the ideals and purposes of the Chi Omega Fraternity.

Our Chapter History

The Austin Chi Omega Alumnae chapter was founded in 1974. Since then, we have offered an outlet for our members to continue their support and commitment to Chi Omega through educational, social and philanthropic opportunities while enjoying old friendships and developing new ones. Our membership comprises of about 100 Alumnae members from more than 40 Collegiate chapters throughout the United States. There are over 1,400 Chi Omega Alumnae in the Austin area and we invite each of you to connect!
